VyneYard is a petite, family-run neighborhood wine shop with “tableside” service. VyneYard is proud to offer curated wines with character at all price points, servicing the Prospect Lefferts Gardens area of Brooklyn, NY!

The candidate must have a background in either the hospitality or fine wine retail business, with strong communication skills, strong people skills, and a keen interest in fine wine and the people that make it. Part-time, weekend positions are available, with room for future growth. (Full Saturday and Sunday availability is required for the currently available position.) The individual will assist the beverage director and owner in the day-to-day operations of a retail wine shop. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting customers with their wine selections – this includes being able to pair wines with food. Other duties include assisting with invoice inputting, updating the website, helping craft captivating tasting notes, and other tasks as needed. The candidate will also provide valued assistance in helping select new wines for the store. This position is for someone who wants to help grow the business.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be well organized with good time management skills.
• Talent to cultivate relationships with customers by ascertaining and understanding their wine preferences and earning their trust.
• Proficient in writing wine offers in a clear and captivating fashion.
• Have strong knowledge of the wine world so that you can speak comfortably and confidently about all major wine producing regions.
• Willing to continue to taste, learn and participate in tastings both on site and off to further your wine knowledge.
• Interest in and awareness of industry trends and our changing inventory.
• Proficient in Google and Microsoft applications.
• Experience with Square POS is a plus!
• Ability to lift and carry a wine case.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
