AR Senior Specialist, Chain Accounts

Job Objective:
Key contributor that performs a variety of detailed functions pertaining to credit, collections, and cash application processes for the highest volume chain store accounts. Works closely with credit and sales manager. Interfaces with broader organization across finance & accounting as needed.
Responsibilities:
Prepare cash application of various payment methods such as checks, electronic funds transfer (EFT), Online Bill Pay, Drivers, non-sufficient funds (NSFs), for chain-store accounts
Serve as primary point of contact for chain-customers including resolving any payment inquiries, reconciling pricing programs, etc.
Research and resolve payment discrepancies. Work closely with customers regarding short / over payment issues.
Review monthly aging report and work closely with sales manager to resolve any discrepant balances.
Review aged receivables with credit managers; contact delinquent accounts to request payment; create and monitor payment plans
Work closely with sales and various departments to keep accurate notes on customer account status for delivery information and account payment status
Respond timely and accurately to customers, suppliers, and sales managers
Additional assignments as required
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills Required:
3+ years of equivalent experience preferred, Associates or Bachelors degree a bonus
Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
Ability to investigate and reconcile payment discrepancies
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook
Ability to navigate various customer web payment portals, and other software
Strong analytical skills
Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to handle time sensitive initiatives
