Description

Position Summary: The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the execution of MS Walker Brands strategic initiatives through the management of Distributor(s) and the Territory. The successful candidate will ensure that the Distributor(s) are adhering to brand policies, company objectives are being met and promotional activity is taking place. This individual will also be responsible for market depletions, pricing, and programming the brands within the distributor network. This individual will work in conjunction with Distributor’s National Account, On & Off Premise Sales Managers and creative services in order to achieve brand goals and objectives for these channels of trade.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop depletion goals, profitability goals and pricing for the market
Ability to manage Distributor(s) relating to the development and implementation of local merchandising program and ongoing performance evaluation
Direct distributor selling activities in the market to achieve sales, distribution and merchandising goals
Ability to negotiate pricing with distributor management
Responsible for educating distributor sales staff
Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of programs & budgets
Work with distributor management in order to maintain proper inventory levels
Work in conjunction with Distributor(s) National Account, On & Off Premise Sales Managers
Observe competitive market activity and evaluate distributor execution against our initiatives
Have high visibility at the top 100 on premise and retail accounts in each market, meet with sales representatives and management to ensure pursuit of MS Walker Brands goals, objectives, and KPI’s/KSO’s
Utilize distributor and MSWB case volume, account sold data and competitive brand benchmarking to achieve improved brand position
Execute product seminars at accounts and with distributor sales team
Stay informed and knowledgeable of customer and consumer trends
Provide monthly market activity report to direct Manager, including a list of objectives, accomplishments, competitive activity, special projects and/or any needs
Successfully launch all new products achieving volume and distribution objectives
Provide feedback on effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives
Develop rapport with key retail and on-premise accounts in region to ensure proper brand distribution, promotion, and shelf management are taking place
Maintain accurate records regarding customer/distributor profiles, organizational structures, and competitive brand alignments
Timely manage all T&E/expenses and local budgets for market
Stay informed and knowledgeable of all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the market and keep management informed of all information pertaining to change
Oversee all MS Walker Brands Ambassadors and Broker Activities in the Region

Requirements
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required
A beverage professional with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a supplier in the wine industry. Beverage executives with wine industry experience who are currently working outside the industry will be considered
Experience selling to all channels of trade including Retail, control state presentations and on-premise customers
Proven ability in territory sales management: including passionate, creative and fact-based selling
Objective-oriented, focused and aggressive individual who needs little direction or supervision
A good strategist who is also a very “hands-on,” “roll up their sleeves” executor
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to direct the distributor sales forces and develop key retail customer relationships
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Excellent critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Analytical skills, in particular gathering data from a wide variety of sources, and presenting it in formats suitable for a wide variety of audiences
Effective managerial and presentation skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be customer –centric with good negotiation and business expansion skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficient with distributor data bases for communication and analytics of the business such as EIS/Inventive, Bevpak and VIP/IDIG
