THE ROLE
The Senior Human Resources Manager will hold a key position within the team, managing the human resources needs of five wineries, three in the Anderson Valley, one in Sebastopol and one in Calistoga. It is a role that will collaboratively drive continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Corporate Director of Human Resources and Administration,with an indirect reporting structure to the President of the wineries.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all facets of the Human Resources department at the wineries.
Serves as a point of contact for employees who wish to address their concerns regarding their employment and works with management to resolve any issues.
Maintains department records and reports in compliance with regulatory and licensing bodies.
Administers all workers compensation, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), and leave of absence information.
Manage and coordinate recruiting of candidates and onboarding new hires with functional teams and administrative team.
Responsible for compliance with all wage and hour practices. Reviews, corrects as needed, and approves all timekeeping records prior to submitting them for payroll purposes. Responsible for bi-weekly payroll of 3 wineries.
Provides prompt response to work related injuries and ensures compliance with all company and regulatory guidelines working with Risk Management
Coaches and advises managers on how to handle employee issues and ensures that all employees are treated fairly and consistently within the law. Recommends disciplinary action up to and including termination when necessary.
Prepares and files all necessary insurance, HR, and OSHA related paperwork
Acts as a liaison with local occupational clinic, communicating with injured worker, and providing follow-up to the manager, HR department and insurance carrier.
QUALIFICATIONS
4-year degree in HR Management, Psychology or Business Management preferred.
Seven (7) + years of human resources generalist experience.
PHR or Human Resources Certificate preferred.
Subject matter expert on federal and state specific employment and wage and hour law.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% depending on nexus of employment location.

Regularly required to sit on an office chair one to two hours at a time up to seven hours per day
