Retail Wine Manager

Cape Cod Package Store Fine Wine & Spirits, a successful retail store since1939, has a great opportunity for a full-time Wine Consultant who is interested in furthering their career. We welcome any individual to apply who is passionate about wine, willing to be a team player and operate on a managerial level. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in an industry-related role, with in depth knowledge of wine and experience in delivering exceptional customer service. As Wine Manager, they will participate in all aspects of retail operations and be able to develop fun, educational events, including wine tastings, seminars and dinners an a Wine Club for our customers!

Key Responsibilities include;
Wine Sales
- Engage with customers on a daily basis to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Manage wine displays and the operation of the Enomatic Wine Serving System in the Wine Room
- Educate customers and encourage the exploration of new wines
- Educate and train staff to assist customers with a focus on new products and in use of the Enomatic Wine Serving System.

Wine Purchasing
- Monitor and manage Wine Inventory
- Responsible for direct interaction with vendors, creating weekly purchase orders on a weekly basis.
- Aligning wine purchases with seasonal and annual budgets.
- Explore new offerings from importers and distributors as the opportunity arises.
- Responsible for training staff to ensure accurate receiving of wine purchases.

Wine Promotion - Marketing
- Utilize support from suppliers and merchandisers as required.
- Implement merchandising strategies to maximize overall store appearance, customer traffic flow and sales
- Encourage wine sales by organizing and coordinating Wine events; including tastings, seminars, dinners.
- Wine Promotions to include; bi-weekly sales ad monitoring products on website, providing tasting notes, weekly / monthly cheese and wine pairings, and creating 'special offer' programs
- Development and Management of our Wine Club
- Creating and managing a Wine Blog
- Develop skills and knowledge through on-going training, as provided by store, distributor or elsewhere subject to store approval.

Store Management
- Daily monitoring of wine inventory and stocking displays and shelves.

- Assist with daily operations of the store, including assisting customers and staff in all departments.
- Assist Store Manager with training employees in all areas related to wine.

Computer and Social Media competency will be considered a plus;
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Publisher
- POS - Spirits, Retail Operating System
- Website
- Social Media, including Facebook , Instagram
- Email Communications

Personal Requirements
- Ability to lift / stack cases, up to 40lbs.
- Availability to work Evenings, Weekends, Holidays
