We are a retail wine shop looking for friendly, outgoing staff that are passionate about wine. The Front of House Team Member's primary responsibilities are to deliver a fast and friendly customer experience at the register while ensuring that all transactions are accurate and error free. They are accountable for maintaining a neat and orderly register area and a balanced register drawer. Front of House team members ensure customers are greeted within 10 seconds, are given a tour of the store, and are assisted with any questions they have regarding their wine needs. Front of House team members participate in weekend wine tastings by checking in attendees, offering tasting sheets and glasses, and assisting customers with their purchases from the tasting line up. This is a part-time or full-time position. Weekend availability is mandatory.
Essential responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service -- Greet customers and acquaint new
customers with the store layout, help locate products, make
recommendations as appropriate
- Be familiar with and maintain knowledge of product offerings and daily email specials
- Answer phone calls and direct or respond to customer queries as appropriate.
- Work with store manager and sommelier to prepare for in-store tastings and corporate events
- Create tasting sheets and store signage with wine descriptions and pricings
- Monitor online orders and pull wines for customer in-store pick-up
- Process in-store sales and phone orders using an e-commerce software
- Be accountable for store presentation by restocking assigned sections of the store and auditing pricing of your assigned sections
- Be extremely organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently
- Assist in receiving new deliveries and keeping back room neat and organized
- Ensure the tasting area and sales floor are clean and organized
- Be skilled in using Word, Excel and other necessary software programs
- Be able to carry a case of wine (~50 lbs)
- Knowledgeable about wine preferred but not required
