FUNCTIONS PERFORMED BY THIS POSITION
1. Fills customer orders according to oral or online request: records sale or rings up sale on cash register, ensuring it’s accuracy; balances cash at close of business; counts, sorts and checks. (27%)
2. Answers customer’s queries on types and prices of merchandise, suitability of each type for various uses or occasions. (23 %)
3. Ensures that no sale is made to persons prohibited by law to purchase alcohol beverages such as, those under the legal drinking age and very intoxicated persons. (8%, in conjunction with function 1)
4. Receives stock at liquor stores by unpacking and checks for breakage and quantity, records incoming and outgoing stock, arranges stock in the store, replenishes store shelves and floor fixtures as needed; cleans and prices bottles; and participates in taking physical inventories by counting all stock or checking off previous counts. May operate material handling a dolly and similar equipment in moving stock. (16% of time not on cash)
5. Assists in maintaining general cleanliness of inventory by dusting of shelves and floor fixtures, sweeping, and other related activities. (5%)
6. Assists in maintaining store security by patrolling floor and ensuring all products leaving the store have been paid for. (17%)
7. Performs other duties as required. (4%)

KEY ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Good interpersonal skills
• Minimum age requirement, 18 years old
• Able to perform all physical tasks required for the position
