Description

We are looking for a professional Beverage Manager to be responsible for managing all Beverage Operations in our Restaurant and Wine and Spirits store. The successful candidate will have extensive food & beverage experience with a focus on wine, spirits and current mixology trends. In addition the Beverage Manager will assist in overseeing restaurant operations and provide beverage education to FOH staff. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and staff engagement.
Responsibilities
• Manage all day-to-day beverage operations for Restaurant and Wine Store within budgeted guidelines and to the highest industry standards
• Responsible for overseeing beverage purchases, providing accurate beverage inventories and their timely completion.
• Identify customer’s needs and respond proactively to product requests
• Participate on Management Team by assisting in attracting, recruiting, training and talented personnel
• Establish sales targets, incentives, policies and procedures
• Establishes contests promoting beverage sales by the staff, tracks the progress of those contests, and posts results weekly.
• Responsible for cleanliness of bar. The minimum expectation is that the bar exceeds all Health Department standards and is neat, well stocked and organized at all times and all staff is Servesafe certified.
• Responsible for bar and service staff training, including ongoing education and providing information on new items, spirits, cocktails or wines.
• Responsible for wine list maintenance, cocktail list maintenance, pricing in POS and Tastevin Wine List Application including vintage updates and descriptions.
• Communicates with Wine Store team and ensures purchases from vendors are accurate and complete per invoices and that costs and quantities are accurate.
• Provide a two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Report to management regarding sales results and productivity
Requirements
• Proven FOH beverage management experience including Bar Manager, Sommelier or Bartending high volume restaurant. Minimum Level 2 Certificate (Court of Master Sommeliers) and/or WSET Level 2 award in wines.
• Reports to General Manager and acts in their place when they are not available
• Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, Aloha POS)
• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
• Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Up-to-date with innovative beverage trends and best practices
• Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
• Guest-oriented and service-minded
