Markham Vineyards, one of Napa Valley's first wineries with a proud history dating back 1874 as the 4th oldest continuously operating winery in St. Helena. Since 1980, we have been focused on creating the very best Napa Valley Merlot, while also enjoying making Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon from 350 acres of ultra-premium estate vineyards. Markham Vineyards is part of the Distinguished Vineyards & Wine Partners portfolio formed in 2008, which represents a collection of iconic wineries from some of the world’s most prestigious wine regions.

This is a Senior Marketing leadership role with responsibility for leading strategy and directing all aspects of the marketing mix, including product positioning, data insights, pricing, packaging, portfolio mix, POS development, promotion, trade communication, product innovation, consumer advertising, PR, and collaborating with DTC/Hospitality teams to achieve brand-building objectives and volume targets for 2 iconic brands - Markham and Textbook.

To be considered as a suitable candidate for this role, you MUST have the following:

Experience:

• Demonstrated people leadership experience, managing diverse teams
• 10+ years of brand marketing experience required with at least 5 years in the wine industry
• P&L management, annual planning and budgeting
• Proven experience leading a portfolio or brand refresh including positioning, pricing and packaging
• College degree required; preferably in business or marketing/communications related discipline

Skills:

• Team leadership and organizational skills with proven ability to set, prioritize and manage a strategic agenda
• Proven communication skills; including verbal, written and presentation
• Skilled at collaboration and achieving through partnerships
• Facile with P&L management, building budgets, measuring results
• Strategic thinker, thought leader with innate curiosity to learn
• Ability to build team engagement, empower others and coach teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge:

• Understanding of the US wine industry, marketing, trade channels, events, distributors and consumers
• Strong understanding of consumers & the impact of long-term brand building
• Understanding of data analysis as a foundation of brand management, trade marketing and price positioning
